Portuguese is the western Romance language. It is spoken in Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, and São Tomé and Príncipe. It's also a co-official language in East Timor, Equatorial Guinea, and Macau. More than 260 million people speak Portuguese. It is the 4th most popular language of the world.

Portuguese is known for the distinctive pronunciation and its nasal sounds. For example, “c” sounds like “k”.
