Karnail Singh Doad (born 1926) was an Indian politician. He served as Member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly from Faridkot (1985-1992).[1]

Personal lifeEdit

Doad was born in 1926 in Faridkot to father Narain Singh. He married Roop Kaur.[1]

EducationEdit

Doad completed his B.A., LL.B. at Faridkot, Jalandhar and Chandigarh.[1]

Political careerEdit

Doad was an Executive of All India Sikh Students Federation from 1946 to 1948. He was also the working committee member of Shiromani Akali Dal from 1955 to 1958. He served as a member and executive of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee from 1955 to 1960.[1]

He was appointed as Director of Punjab State Cooperative Land Mortgage Bank, Chandigarh in 1962 and held this position till 1968. He served as chairman of Punjab State Agricultural Marketing Board, Chandigarh from 1970 to 1972.[1] In 1985, he was elected as Member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly from Faridkot defeating Veena Rani of Congress by a margin of 7175 votes.[2][3]

He was the chief patron of Sangat Sahib Bhai Pheru Sikh Educational Society.[2]

DeathEdit

He died on 21 April, 2019.[2]
