West Bengal State Haj Committee

West Bengal State Haj Committee is a statutory body for Haj pilgrimage under the Ministry of Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education in the Government of West Bengal.[1][2][3][4] It is under the Haj Committee Act, 2002 and established on the principles of Haj Committee of India.[5] The Committee runs a Hajj House at New Town, Kolkata.[6][7][8] The committee practices for the Haj at Mecca.[9][10] The committee is headed by Haji Shaikh Nurul Islam since 2016.[11]

Social works

  • The Committee provides free classes to the West Bengal Civil Services Exam and accommodations to applicants.[12][13]
