Meer Akhtar Hussain
Meer Akhtar Hussain is an Indian politician hailing from Assam. He played a significant role as a Commissioner in the Makum Municipal Board under the banner of the Indian National Congress. In the 2015 Municipal Elections, Meer stood as a candidate for the Municipal Board of Makum under the banner of the Indian National Congress and has won the election and became Commissioner of Makum Municipal Board. He had a strong bond with the late Rameswar Dhanowar, indicating their close working relationship. Beyond that, Meer also plays a role as a Returning Officer within the Indian Youth Congress, where he is responsible for managing important processes like scrutiny of all the new members of INC and conducting Internal party Elections.[2]
