Suryavanshi is a surname found presently in India mainly by the Kshatriya Maratha community in Deccan part if Maharashtra, and is one of the 4 vansh of the 96 warrior clans. The vansh which Shivaji belonged to, who founded the Maratha Kingdom.[citation needed]
