Veenangeni is a small village near Vadalur town, in Cuddalore district, in the state of Tamil Nadu, in India. Veenangeni is the gateway for entering into the village Mettukkuppam, where saint Vallalar Ramalinga Swamigal spent the end of his life.

Main occupation here is agriculture. People depend mainly on water from nearby lignite mines (Neyveli Lignite corporation) for irrigation, and the Veenangeni lake "Vinneri". The lake is the biggest lake in surrounding areas. Many people worked at NLC (Neyveli Lignite Corporation) in Neyveli.
