Thoothukkudi City Municipal Corporation is a civic body that governs Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, India.

History

Thoothukkudi was established as a Municipality on 1 November 1866 as per the Town Improvements Act of 1865 with Roche Victoria as its first chairman. It attained the status of Municipal Corporation on 5 August 2008. It was upgraded to a municipal corporation in 2008 along with Erode, Tiruppur and Vellore.
