The greeting is dedicated to B. R. Ambedkar

Jai Bhim (also Jay Bhim and Jai Bheem) (transl. "Victory for Bhim" or "Long live Bhim") is a greeting used by followers of Ambedkarism. Jai Bhim literally means "Victory to Bhim" referring to B. R. Ambedkar, an Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer and the principal architect of the Constitution of India.[1] However, its origin is obscure and may date as far back as 1818, well before Ambedkar's birth.[2]

Jai Bhim is also used as a slogan by some political parties like the BSP.[3][4][5]
