HistoryEdit

In 1979, a 4,000 m2 (43,000 sq ft) plot of land was allotted to Gyan Kendra at 4 Bungalows, Andheri (W) to run an English-language school. This was granted by the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Sharad Pawar, who also donated Rs. 1.25 lakh.

In 1981 a charitable programme was organized to raise funds and give shape to the present school building. In 1990 Pawar granted a 4,000 m2 (43,000 sq ft) plot for a degree college; possession of which was taken on August 2002. He also donated an amount of Rs.2 lakh from the Chief Minister's Fund towards the building fund.

In 2003, a further 7,100 m2 (76,000 sq ft) plot was allotted by Pawar for a playground. Bhoomi Poojan was performed by him in March 2005 and the construction work began in December 2005.
