Kota Srinivas Poojary is an Indian politician who is the current Minister of State for Hindu Religious Organisations, Endowments and Backward Class Welfare Department of Karnataka. He has been a Member of the Karnataka Legislative Council since 26 June 2008.

He has handled many posts in Karnataka politics. From 2 July 2018 till 23 July 2019, he served as the Leader of the Opposition of the Karnataka Legislative Council. Currently, he is the Leader of the House in the Council. He has also served as the Minister of Fisheries, Ports and Inland Transport & Muzarai from Revenue Department in the Government of Karnataka, headed by Chief Minister B. S. Yeddyurappa.

Political career

His first time he served as Minister of Muzarai from Revenue Department, Minister of Ports and Inland water Transport from water resources, Government of Karnataka in Shettar Cabinet from (12 July 2012 – 8 May 2013) and president of OBC Morcha in Karnataka BJP. He was elected as a Member of the Karnataka Legislative Council from Local Authorities Constituency (Udupi and Dakshina kannada). Mr. Poojary was first elected as an MLC following the death of then incumbent MLC and Congress leader Blasius D'souza in 2008.
