Priya Kapur (born April 1984, Mumbai) is an Indian entrepreneur and author based in Mumbai.[1][2][3] Kapur is a acclaimed entrepreneur who has also founded a number of companies including Priya Kapur Makeup and Hair (PKMH), and The Glocal Trunk under Glocal Trunk LLP.[4][5] Kapur is also the director of Grentex Co Pvt LTD & GR Woollen Mills, a star export house and textile company based in India.[6][7]
Kapur has received national acclaim for pioneering esthetics and hair and make-up designing.[8] She has worked with a number of high profile clientele and is regularly seen at fashion shows, beauty pageants, and luxury events, brand & collection launches such as Koesch, Bada Saab, MissMalini, and Make-up Forever.[9]
Kapur has also authored a coffee table book titled ‘Bridal Diaries’[10] and has been featured in several media outlets and magazines including Seventeen India, Elle, Beautiful People, Brides Now, AND, Jade, India Today, My World, The Sindhian, JCK Luxury Magazine, and others.[11][12] She is also a member of the Indian Merchants Chambers – Ladies Wing, the Indo-German Chambers of Commerce and Federation of Indian Exporters Organisation.[13][14][15][16]
Early life and education
Kapur was born on 14 April 1984 in Mumbai India. She graduated from Jamnabai Narsee School, and then pursued a bachelor’s degree in English at Mithibai College.
Kapur after founding her personal brand PKMH, completed several courses to acquire additional knowledge in makeup and hairdressing. She pursued a diploma course in hairdressing and makeup from the City and Guilds Institute in London, UK. Kapur also took part in several workshops including High Definition & Airbrush makeup organized by Kryolan and also by Marvie Beck who is a renowned fashion, media, and television makeup artist.
Career
Kapur commenced her career in 2005 when she started her entrepreneurial journey by incorporating her talent into creating a personal brand Priya Kapur - Makeup & Hair. To hone her talent, Kapur acquired diplomas in several courses and training programs from various reputed institutes. Kapur is also a member of the Indian Merchants Chambers – Ladies Wing, the Indo-German Chambers of Commerce and Federation of Indian Exporters Organisation.

Priya Kapur Makeup and Hair is a luxury service offered by Kapur herself. She has worked with several high profile clientele and has been an integral part of various fashion magazines, fashion shows, beauty pageants (beauty queens of Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2009), and where luxury collections & brand launches such as Koesch, Bada Saab, MissMalini, and Make-up Forever. She also runs an online blog sharing her expertise in the fashion and makeup domain.
- Grentex
Priya along with continuing her business forayed into her family-owned textile business and acquired the position Director of Company - Grentex and Co Pvt Ltd and GR Woollen Mills which is a 100-year-old woolen spinning mill, exporting woolen and worsted yarn worldwide. She is the next in line to spearhead the company, carrying on the legacy of her father Mr. Ravikant Kapur.
- The Glocal Trunk
In 2016, Kapur co-founded ‘The Glocal Trunk’ (TGT) which is an online eCommerce platform. TGT facilitates a full-spectrum online shopping experience and has a wide range of costume and fashion jewelry.[17] TGT also has a customizable feature that allows the shoppers to design their jewelry. This initiative by Kapur is to orchestrate a typical luxury Baazaar (Indian Flea Market) experience for online shoppers.[18]
Books
In 2013, Kapur also published a coffee table book titled Bridal Diaries, which comprises her accomplishments and showcases her talent.[19]
