Chittumala is a busy road junction where the Kundara - Chittumala, Munroe Island - Chittumala and Chittumala - Bharanikkavu roads meet. It is also famous for the ancient Sri Durga Devi Temple. The name Chittumala means a place surrounded by hills. From Chittumala we can get a good view of the planes of Kallada and Chittumala Chira.

LocationEdit

It is situated about 23 km from Kollam city, 9 km from Kundara and 8 km from Bharanikkavu. There are many private buses plying through these routes providing good connectivity. The new alignment of NH 183 is through Chittumala.

Chittumala BlockEdit

Chittumala is of the most famous block panchayats in Kerala. It has received numerous awards and Swaraj trophy for best local self governing body several times [1]
