Plot
This is the story of a group of college friends and their passion for dance. It shows how this passion brings them together to form a bond of friendship and love.
The story follows Kria Ghai (Shakti Mohan), a small-town girl from Dehradun who has a strong passion for dance. For some mysterious reason, her single mother is strictly against dance and does not allow Kria to follow her dreams and takes away her dancing shoes. However, She talks to her mother about going to Mumbai for further studies while actually, she plans to fulfill her passion for dance. Before their departure, on New Year's night, she meets Reyansh (Rey) Singhaniya (Kunwar Amar) and both get arrested for damaging some of the club's property. She learns that Rey is rich and spoilt, but she did not know he was a charming guy from Mumbai. Later, Kria walks out of the police station, unaware that Rey had fallen in love with her at first sight. Kria's mother takes a job transfer to Mumbai, and both of them move to Mumbai. Kria joins St. Louis College with the hopes of achieving her dream. However, she is shocked to discover that the college has two major divisions: Dazzlers and Weaklings. The "Dazzlers" consists of the more affluent kids of the college who have a superiority complex and happen to be the only dancing team representing the college. Sharon and Reyansh are childhood best friends and heads of Dazzlers, including Vicky, Nilesh, Simi and Rini. The "Weaklings" include the talented but ordinary students bullied by the Dazzlers.
Fate plays its role when Kria runs into Rey again and finds out that he leads the Dazzlers. Rey is shocked to see Kria in his college. Kria also runs into Sharon Raiprakash of the Dazzlers team, which turns into an ugly encounter causing the Dazzlers to turn against her. Kria is then ragged badly by the Dazzlers but is helped by Rey. Despite her talent, Kria is labelled as a 'Weakling' and is refrained from showcasing her talent. Kria learns about a nationwide dance competition- FootLoose. Kriya also learns about Swayam Shekhawat (Shantanu Maheshwari), an excellent student as well as a superb dancer ragged by the Dazzlers but hopelessly in love with Sharon. Driven by her love for Dance, Kria becomes determined to establish her dance team and compete against the Dazzlers in Footloose auditions. The 'Weaklings' include Kria, Swayam, Neha, Vishakha, Amar and Bharat.
Sharon starts falling for Rey, who in turn shows interest in Kria. As time passes, Sharon forgets about her slight crush. However, she still despises the 'Weaklings', especially Kria, and is irked by Kria's growing friendship with Rey. During Rose Day, she successfully creates a big misunderstanding between the two, which leads to Kria slapping Rey. Rey starts hating Kria after this incident, and they both begin playing pranks to put down each other. Kria becomes uncomfortable seeing Rey and Sharon dance together on Rose Day while Swayam cheats and makes Kria the Rose Queen, thus choosing friendship over his love. To make up for this, he sends gifts to Sharon as a 'secret admirer'. Sharon becomes overjoyed on seeing classy gifts from her admirer and desperately wants to find out his identity. Meanwhile, the war between Dazzlers and Weaklings is still on. Their professor, Ravi Dixit (RDX), calls upon his friend Professor Karan Malik to end this.
Professor Karan Malik (Karan Singh Grover) enters St. Louis college, and instantly all the girls start swooning over him. He tries to create peace between the two groups through various tasks and activities until the confession task. Sharon starts disliking Swayam even more during that task when he confesses that Sharon was the actual Rose Queen, but he cheated and made Kria win instead. Rey and Kria apologise to each other, but a significant dent is caused in Rey and Sharon's friendship when she confesses that she created misunderstandings between Rey and Kria. Rey lashes out at Sharon for betraying him and leaves the room. Karan realises the damage this task had done when he finds Sharon crying for the first time. Rey befriends Kria, starts avoiding Sharon, and even insults her in front of everyone, hurting her. Karan tries to stop their fight and make them reconcile, but Sharon avoids Karan like the plague and always runs away when he comes near her or tries to talk to her. Eventually, both friends reconcile as well as both the teams. Karan transfers from St. Louis. Then RDX sir appoints a new dance teacher for the group Ms Nicole (Vallary Lokre). St. Louis College organises a dance fest during which Kria realises she likes Rey.
As a result of Kria and Rey becoming friends, they start helping Sharon and Swayam come closer as both have feelings for each other. Meanwhile, Sharon reveals that she is in love with her secret admirer during the rehearsals for the special couple dance. Her secret admirer is none other than Swayam, and he is the only one who knows. As Rey and Kria try to find out who the secret admirer is, they come closer to each other and fall for each other, just like Swayam and Sharon. Thus, the story focuses on Kria & Rey, Sharon & Swayam, and the other characters as Dil experience the tremors of first love; Dosti develops when new friendships are established and dance has always been their passion.
Due to a dance competition, all the friends are divided back into "Dazzlers" and "Weaklings", bringing distance between Rey & Kria, Swayam & Sharon, Vicky & Neha and the other group members. As Footloose Dance Competition Italic text fast approaches, Shivam Dutta, a rival college student, ends up befriending Sharon and uses her against the team. He leaks out the truth about Kria's dance team to her mother, who does not allow her to perform. He makes Sharon videotape the Dazzler's routine and steals it from her phone, something they don't realize until much later. This forces Kria to leave St. Louis and puts an end to her dancing career and her blossoming relationship with Rey, leaving him heartbroken.
The Dazzler's humiliation at Footloose leaves Sharon completely shattered and underconfident. It is at this time that Swayam decides to help her come out of her shell again. He does end up doing so by silently supporting her throughout. Though she never acknowledges it, Sharon does have feelings for Swayam. After the gang's return from Goa, where Sharon renewed her confidence, Taani enters. Taani is Swayam's cousin and loves Rey, a feeling so strong that it compels her to come from Jodhpur to Mumbai. Despite initial resistance, she ends up becoming a part of the gang. After Kria's departure, the Weaklings are busy looking for a 6th dancer, which is why Taani pretends to be an excellent dancer to get into the team, which creates havoc when the truth unfolds. Meanwhile, Shivam enters their college once again and tries to break the team. At this time, Sharon and Swayam are getting closer to each other. Swayam finally musters up the courage to ask Sharon out, which she refuses. But she finally accepts her love for Swayam and expresses it, commencing their "trial relationship". Shivam quickly befriends Taani and uses her to manipulates things against the D3 gang. He and Taani pretend to be a couple, which gets Rey jealous. Sharon and Swayam decide to keep their relationship a secret. With Shivam's help, the Dazzlers manage to get back into Footloose. But Shivam creates trouble between the two teams by raising the topic of the Weakings team falling short of a dancer. When Sharon cannot keep up her word of letting the team in because of Shivam's tactics, the Weaklings blame the Dazzlers for their defeat and the latter's win. However, the anger boils down after a while, and the gang unites, though it breaks the Vicky-Neha relationship. Vishakha leaves the college soon after.
It is during the Dance Camp that Sharon ends up fainting while dancing and is taken to Delhi. The Dance Camp ends up breaking the gang's confidence, as only Swayam, Neha and Rey win titles. Taani and Rey end up getting closer while Swayam maintains a long-distance relationship with his girlfriend, Sharon. The gang ends up meeting Aashi, a fellow college student who always wanted to be a part of the Weaklings team. Aashi has a tiny crush on Swayam, which ends up in the gang constantly teasing them together against Swayam's wishes. Taani and Rey become closer to each other. An Assistant Vice Principal, Khushboo, is appointed, and she makes it an objective to end the dance culture within the college as it doesn't benefit monetarily. The gang feels discouraged while dancing, and everyone quits the team except Swayam, Rey, Nilesh and Aashi. After a while, Sharon stops responding to Swayam's calls and messages which gets him worried. Taani and Rey continuously bicker and argue about GS-AGS duties and the personal equation during this time. When Sharon finally returns from Delhi, she behaves coldly with Swayam before announcing that she doesn't want to be in a relationship with Swayam anymore. The reason behind this is that Sharon has asthma, which will stop her from dancing. Sharon knows how much Swayam loves dancing and doesn't want him to quit for her sake. Swayam is shattered but still tries to find out Sharon's reasons. Sharon keeps asthma a secret from everyone, except her best friend, Simmi. Meanwhile, Taani and Rey also confess their feelings for one another and become a couple. Sharon tells the gang that she won't be a part of the dance team anymore. She refuses to help the team prepare for the Dance at Indiafest, though it ends up with Swayam and her sharing a passionate dance. At Indiafest, the entire gang arrives unexpectedly after having decided that they will continue dancing. Everyone, including Sharon, performs at Indiafest together, attracting viewers who offer them money to perform together. This leads the team to form their group, D3. Sharon ends up revealing her asthma to Swayam, which leads to an emotional breakup. Despite that, Swayam silently continues to take care of her, which manages to get them closer to each other, though as friends. The D3 crew begins to perform at various events while preparing for the Nation Dance Championship (NDC). During the preparations, Swayam's father, Rishi Shekhawat, enters. He hates Swayam's passion for dance and keeps putting him down. Unaware of Rey's dancing talent, he constantly pits Rey against Swayam, ending with Swayam becoming extremely angry and annoyed. Rey realises that Taani is becoming far too dependent on him and Swayam and breaks up with her, hoping she will become more independent. Sharon also realises she has undeniable feelings for Swayam and gets closer to him, leaving him confused about where their relationship stands. The D3 crew goes on progressing from one NDC level to another. They are eliminated during one level, which Swayam feels is because of the injury he had sustained. Later, they realise it was because of a biased judge removed because of Taani's efforts, and the team's disqualification is taken back. Swayam tries to stay away from Sharon to prevent himself from being hurt. But eventually, Sharon ends up indirectly confessing her feelings for him by telling his father. This leads to Swayam and Sharon proposing their feelings to each other and becoming a couple, which they decide to keep a secret. Rey tells Taani why they break up, but Taani decides to end the relationship for good and move on. On the day of the finals of NDC, Sharon's efforts end up in Rishi making up with his son. The team wins the competition. Post this, Sharon and Swayam end up going on their first date. Soon after, Taani tells everyone she is leaving the college. Rey was left heartbroken.
Sharon ends up getting chickenpox, because of which she does not come to college for a week. Taani leaves the college after a fond farewell, though leaving Rey completely heartbroken. It is then when Mr Aditya Khurrana (Sehban Azim), a PR agent enters and offers to promote Rey. Rey agrees, but only if it is along with the gang. Mr Khurrana tries numerous ways to separate the gang by making them feel unwanted and small. He creates the Reyzors, which displeases the gang immensely. And leads to Neha feeling completely underconfident and deciding between leaving the D3 team to form a solo dance career. When Sharon comes back to college, she is given a heartwarming welcome by the whole gang, planned by Swayam. Aditya makes Sharon Rey's dancing partner create problems between Rey and Swayam. Swayam and Sharon end up going on a few dates, part of Swayam's wish list before their relationship is rudely brought to an end over a misunderstanding and a fight. Rey realises his mistake when he finds out about Mr Khurrana's doings and takes his revenge by publicly insulting him at a press conference and bringing his gang into the limelight. The D3 team becomes one again, though the gang is unsure whether they want to continue dancing. Sharon is unable to forgive Rey for creating a rift between Swayam and her. Rey decides to conduct a team-building exercise and tells the Vice Principal about his idea. Sharon is put in charge of this exercise as she is the college CS. This exercise proves successful as the team is unified, though they promise never to dance again, for dance was the reason behind the drift caused between them. They win the team-building exercise and are chosen to organise the Ganesh Chaturthi Dance Festival. Throughout this fest, Rey fruitlessly tries to break the team's promise of 'no dance'. Trouble is brought upon the D3 team on KR College, Shivam's team's, abrupt entry. On the last day of the fest, Shivam challenges the D3 team for a face-off, bringing dance back into D3's life. Shivam and Rey plan this together and allowing for Shivam to repent. However, Swayam and Sharon are still not together. Sharon misses Swayam badly and is disappointed to see that Swayam no longer loves her as much as he did. She thinks about the good old times and plans to become the new secret admirer.
Sharon becomes Swayam's secret admirer and sends him gifts. But everyone misunderstands and think that Rey has a secret admirer. Swayam finally comes to know that Sharon is his secret admirer but keeps it a secret as well. Aashi declares herself as Rey's secret admirer to avoid further misunderstandings and fights with Sharon. Sharon and Swayam have a massive fight in the announcement cell about the secret admirer and their relationship, which the whole college hears. When Swayam says that he and Sharon were a couple in front of the D3 team, she disagrees with the fact saying that they never were or can be a couple. This finally results in a breakup, this time from Swayam's side. Soon, Sharon realises her shortcomings and determines to win Swayam back. She also fulfils the 4th wish of his wish list and dresses up as Desi Sharon to impress him. The new task for the D3 crew is to put up a Ram-Leela stage show for a charity event in their college.
