Shamim Akhtar
Shamim Akhtar (Urdu: شمیم اختر; 9 March 1926— 22 November 2020) or commonly referred to as Shamim Bibi. She was the mother of the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif.

She was born on 9 March 1925 in Lahore.[1] She completed matriculation level education.[1]
Marriage and familyEdit
She was the wife of Mian Muhammad Sharif and the mother of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif,[2] current Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and former Member National Assembly Abbas Sharif.
DeathEdit
Shamim Akhtar moved to London in the early days of February 2020, and had been living with her son Nawaz Sharif since. As a patient of Alzheimer's, she had been in critical condition for over a week and was unable to regain her health. She had been ill for several months and her condition worsened. Subsequently, in the early hours of 22 November 2020, at age 94 Shamim Bibi passed away in London. The Sharif family arranged for her body to be moved to Pakistan for the burial.[2]
