Torrent Cables Limited is the first company in the cable industry to get ISO 9001:2000 certification. The majority of the manufactured products are BIS certified and generally comply with the IEC standards.
Many industrial sectors, including Petrochemicals, Fertilizers & Chemicals, Energy, Cement, Steel & Aluminum, Ports, Railways, Infrastructure, Engineering & Construction, FMCGs, Information Technology, and Aerospace are served by the company.[2]
It was incorporated on March 22 1991 and an agreement was executed between Torrent Pharmaceuticals Limited (TPL) and Gujarat Industrial Investment Corporation Ltd. (GIIC) to set up a manufacturing plant for Penicillin-G.[3]
Torrent Cables is one of the market leaders in the HT Power Cable segment with a manufacturing capability of up to 132 kV XLPE cables. It merged with Torrent Power in 2015.[4]
