KAVI KAVI is a Canadian fashion design company that provides contemporary luxury womenswear known for not using fur or leather in its designs. It is owned and co-founded by fashion designer Dipika Gupta. The company offers an exquisite range of feminine and masculine-inspired wearable looks that are constructed from high-quality fabrics and hand-embroidered by Indian artisans. From 2005 to 2008 the company showcased their collections at the L'Oréal Fashion Week and their garments have appeared in Elle, Flare and Vision magazines.[1]
History[edit]
The company was founded on a part-time basis by Dipika Gupta with her twin sister Ravika and older sibling Monika in 2003 and they were chosen as the brand ambassador of McDonald's in 2009.[2] The label originates from the middle names of the twin designers who were handling the creative aspects of the company until Ravika moved to New York City to study while Dipika retained the label since 2011.[3]
The company is headquartered in Toronto, Canada and has participated in numerous events such as Toronto Fashion Week, the star-studded Bell Mobility celebrity gala, a fundraiser for kids hospital and South Asian Media Awards NYC.[4]
