Umesh Prasad is a British Indian journalist [1]. He is founder and editor of “Scientific European” magazine [2] and “The India Review”[3].

Early life

Umesh was born in May 1965 in Ghorasahan town in East Champaran district of Bihar State [4]. This is where his father had settled after moving from nearby Ram Nagar village of Chhauradano Block. Umesh received his early primary school education under Ramchandra Master before moving to Raxaul where he studied up to matriculation.

Education

After matriculation, Umesh passed BSc Honours in Physics from Ranchi College. Later, he studied in Tamil Nadu Government Dental College and qualified as a dental surgeon. Subsequently, he attended Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani for M. Phil. and London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) for an MSc. He was also a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH)[5].[6]

Career

Umesh began his career as a doctor and subsequently a lecturer. Since 2018, he is engaged in journalistic activities and writes in ‘’Scientific European’’ magazine on recent developments in science and technology [7],[8] and ‘’The India Review’’[9] news portal covering range of topics in science and on India.He has also rigorously covered Buddhist heritage of Bihar in webbook called “Bihar, The Land of Buddhist World” to explain the importance of cultural heritage of Bihar pertaining to Lord Buddha and Ashoka the great [10].

Personal life

Umesh is married [11] to Neelam Prasad. The couple have a child. He lives in Hampshire county of England.
