Vadinar Oil Terminal Ltd (VOTL) is an integrated oil terminal situated at Vadinar with a capacity of 58 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) and handles crude oil and petroleum products.[1]
Description
Essar commissioned the Vadinar Oil Terminal Ltd (VOTL) and is currently operated by Nayara Energy, in 2006.[2]
Strategically located at the southern tip of the Gulf of Kutch, VOTL is a 58-MMTPA facility consisting of a marine terminal; crude, product and intermediate storage tankage of over 3 million cubic metre capacity, and rail and road gantries with 13 kms of railway siding. These facilities are critical for the successful operation of Essar’s 20 MTPA Vadinar Refinery.[3]
Expansion
Russia oil giant Rosneft-led Nayara Energy, formerly Essar Oil, is planning to add a Single Point Mooring (SPM) facility at Vadinar port in Gujarat at a cost of Rs 500 crore to handle additional requirement of crude oil. [4]
