Siddhanta Mahapatra (born 4 May 1966)[1] known professionally as Sidhu/Muna bhai, is an Indian actor, producer and distributor, who works predominantly in Odia, Bengali, Tamil Industry. He also worked in several movies in Telugu, Kannada, Bhojpuri, Marathi and Punjabi Industries. Referred to worldwide by his fans as "Dynamic SuperStar" for his roles in action films, Siddhanta has acted in more than 180 movies with most of them (150) being lead roles. He is the only actor to win back to back 7 Odisha State Awards during 2000–2006 including five Filmfare Awards East awards. He is one of few actors to attract fan following from multiple states of India. He has produced and distributed 100 movies under his venture Omm Divya Vision Motion Picture.

Early life
Siddhanta was born in a Brahmin family at Brahmapur, Odisha.[2] He completed his schooling from St. Vincent's Convent School, Berhampur, and did higher secondary from D.D.College, Keonjhar and graduation in commerce from Rairangpur College,Mayurbhanj.He completed his master's degree from the Institute of Marketing and Management, Delhi. Both his father, Dr. Manmohan Mohapatra, and his mother are doctors. He married former actress Mama Mishra, and has a daughter Saisiddhi Mahapatra and son Saisamarth Mahapatra.
Career
His first Odia film came in 1992 at the age of 27 at the behest of his cousin brother. He has acted in more than 150 films. His debut film, Shradhanjali , starred Lekha Nanda as the female lead.[3] Siddhanta Mahapatra is best known for his experiments in movies and High quality Vfx in low budget trend in Odia cinema in his Kandei Akhire Luha (1996) Evil doll story first introduced Odia cinema,Cult classic till date. He experimented with a cut hand in Rakhi bandhili mo rakhiba mana (2000) which was completely new and fresh in Oriya films then.In movie Rahichi rahibi tori payeen(2003) presented 100 scorpions. It was again the work of a wonderful graphic. Then in Dharmara Heba Jaya and Tate mo Rana he experimented his Action Star image with two most iconic film of career. In Dharamara Heba Jaya (2005) actor Siddhant Mohapatra portrayed the character of the blind while in Tate mo Rana (2006) he portrayed the character of a soul when his character comes back even after his death. In both these films, his looks have experimented.
Political career
He joined Biju Janata Dal in 2009 and contested as MP from Berhampur constituency in the 2009 "15th Lok Sabha" Election. He won the election and is the Member of Parliament for Berhampur constituency. He won the 2014 General election for the second time by a thumping margin of nearly 1 lakh votes amidst stiff competition from UPA and NDA and retained his seat.[4][5][6][7]
