Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui
Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is a 2021 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by Abhishek Kapoor and produced by T-Series in collaboration with Guy In The Sky Pictures.[4] Announced in July 2020 the film features Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor in lead roles.[5] It is theatrically released on 10 December 2021.[1]

Plot
Manvinder 'Manu' Munjal is a body builder from Chandigarh. He falls in love with a zumba teacher named Maanvi. Everything goes well until he finds out that Maanvi is a transgender woman.

Production
Principal photography commenced on 21 October 2020 in Chandigarh.[8] Filming was wrapped up on 22 December 2020.[9][10]

The film's music is composed by Sachin–Jigar while the lyrics are written by IP Singh, Priya Saraiya and Vayu.[11]
The song "Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui" is a remake of the same name song from the 2004 album Aashiqui by Jassi Sidhu and lyrics written by Madan Jalandhari.[12]

Reception
Hiren Kotwani of the Times of India rated the film with 4 stars out of five and praised the direction of Abhishek Kapoor, writing, "he handles the hard-hitting reality of the subject with sensitivity and maturity". Kotwani appreciated the screenplay of Supratik Sen and Tushar Paranjap saying "Credit also goes to Supratik Sen and Tushar Paranjape for their honest and relatable screenplay and dialogues". He praised the performances of lead pair Ayushmann Khurrana, Vaani Kapoor and supporting cast of Goutam Sharma, Gourav Sharma, Aanjjan Srivastav, Kanwaljit Singh, Tanya Abrol and Girish Dhamija Aarav Dua Anav Dua. Praising production design and cinematography, he wrote, "Bindiya Chhabria’s production design is vibrant and cinematographer Manoj Lobo has beautifully shot this offbeat love story". He found "Chandan Arora’s editing crisp". Concluding review Kotwani commented on post COVID-19 norms and normalcy writing, "Isn’t it time to shake things up a bit, move out of the comfort zone and break the shackles of stereotypes? Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui does that, while still leaving you comfortably entertained."[13]

Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui earned ₹3.75 crore at the worldwide box office on its opening day.[3]
