The Nongmaiching or the Selloi Langmai Ching is a hill range in eastern province of the plains of Manipur. It is one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in the region.[1][2][3][4][5][6] According to Meitei mythology and folklore, the hilltop is the sacred abode of Nongpok Ningthou and Panthoipi, where they had united, at the presence of many gods, which is still commemorated as Lai Haraoba by the Meitei ethnicity.[7][8]
