The Raysipotra get their name from Raysojee, who belonged to the Dal Muslim community. They are a small [[Maldhari]] community found in the village of Bhirandiara in the [[Banni Grasslands Reserve|Banni]] region of [[Kutch]]. They are also found in the village of Gadhiyado. Their habitat is located in the heart of the [[Banni Grasslands Reserve|Banni]]  region, a semi-desert ecosystem. The climate is dry and hot, and pastoral lifestyle is the only option for the inhabitants. The Raysipotra are a community of [[Maldhari]] cattle breeders. They take their cattle to bazaars of [[Bhuj]]. In addition to cattle rearing, they also raise goats and buffaloes. Like other Kutchi communities, many of them have migrated to other parts of [[India]] in search of employment. The Raysipotra or Raisipotra (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.) is a Sindhi Muslim Sammat clan of Dal tribe found in the state of Gujarat in India[1] and the province of Sindh in Pakistan. They are one of a number of communities of pastoral nomads found in the Banni region of Kutch.[2][3][4][citation needed]

रायसीपोत्रा कबीले की जड़ें सिंध के ऐतिहासिक सम्मा वंश से जुड़ी हैं। कबीले का नाम उनके पूर्वज रायसी (Raysi) के नाम पर पड़ा है। पारिवारिक और मौखिक परंपराओं के अनुसार, सिंध में इस कबीले को धर्श (Dharsh) के नाम से जाना जाता था। मध्यकाल के दौरान, चरागाहों की खोज और राजनीतिक कारणों से यह कबीला सिंध से प्रवास कर कच्छ के बन्नी घास के मैदानों में बस गया।[6]
