The Palia Koli,[1] or Paliya Koli (Hindi: पालिया कोली) is a subcaste of the Koli caste found in the Indian state of Eastern Gujarat.[2] Palia Kolis were related to the Rajputs of Gujarat by marrying poor or lower Rajput girls.[3]

The Palia Kolis of Gujarat got their name from Pal region of the state from where they migrated to other regions in the state.[4]
Classification[edit]
The Palia Kolis are classified as Other Backward Class or OBC caste by the Government of Gujarat.[5]
