Ramu ([[Nandamuri Balakrishna]]) is an orphan whom Lawyer Raghava Rao ([[Jaggayya]]) and Gayatri Devi ([[Sharada (actress)|Sharada]]) had adopted and treated like a son, as one of their four children.
