The present Indian Ambassador to [[Qatar]] is Dr. Deepak Mittal(IFS). The Embassy of India, Doha was established in the State of Qatar in 1971. It promotes political, economic, and commercial relations between the [[Government of India|Republic of India]] and the [[Politics of Qatar|State of Qatar]], and looks after the welfare of the [[Indian people|Indian]] community in Qatar providing [[Consul (representative)|consular]] services as well as other services including assistance in labour-related issues. It provides [[Visa policy of India|visa]] services and other guidance to Qatari and other nationals intending to visit India.
The Embassy has three nodal community organizations, the Indian Cultural Centre (for promotion of [[Indian art]] and [[Culture of India|culture]]), the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (for Community Welfare) and Indian Business Professionals Network (for promotion of business), directly working under it.{{citation needed|date=July 2018}}
