Swati Bathwal studied [[public health]] in [[Sydney]] and received a scholarship after scoring 96 in [[Biochemistry]]. For further study in nutrition, she picked [[Griffith University]] in 2006. In 2008, she was subjected to racial discrimination and forced to leave the program. After graduating from Mayfield College, Melbourne she has worked at [[Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute]], the largest heart and diabetes institute in the southern hemisphere and also worked with endocrinologist Dr David Carey.<ref name="HT"/>
