Hosur Municipal Corporation is the civic body governing city of Hosur in Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Municipal Corporation mechanism in India was introduced during British Rule with formation of municipal corporation in Madras (Chennai) in 1688, later followed by municipal corporations in Bombay (Mumbai) and Calcutta (Kolkata) by 1762.[1] Hosur Municipal Corporation is headed by Mayor of city and governed by Commissioner.
History and Administration
Hosur Municipal Corporation in Krishnagiri district was formed in year 2019[2][3] and is one of 21 municipal corporations in Tamil Nadu.
Currently the Municipal Commissioner is Thiru M. Senthil Murugan, M.Com.,[4]
