Sameer started his career by assisting his father [[Mulraj Rajda]] in films and television. In 1985, he made his television debut with [[Ramanand Sagar]] television serial ''[[Vikram Aur Betaal]]''. Then he appeared in another television serial ''Dada Dadi Ki Kahaniyan'' (1986) which was also produced by [[Sagar Arts]]. His first break came with [[Ramanand Sagar]] directed television serial ''[[Ramayan (1987 TV series)|Ramayan]]'' (1987), in which he played the role of [[Shatrughan]]. In 1988, he reprised his role of [[Shatrughan]] in another [[Ramanand Sagar]] directed television serial ''[[Luv Kush]]''. In 1989, he also appeared in [[B.R. Chopra| BR Chopra's]] ''[[Mahabharat (1988 TV series)|Mahabharat]]'' in a small role as [[Uttara (Mahabharata)|Uttara]]. He was also a part of many popular shows like ''[[Hamari Devrani]]'' (2008), ''[[Chhuta Chheda]]'' (2011) and  ''[[Crime Patrol (TV series)|Crime Patrol]]'' (2017).
