Meitei people, also known as Meetei people or Manipuri people, are the politically dominant major ethnic group of Manipur Kingdom since time immemorial. There are seven main clans in the Meitei ethnicity. These are: Mangang, Luwang, Khuman, Kha Nganpa, Angom, Moilang and Salai Leishangthem.[1]
