Suraj Dighe (Marathi: सुरज दिघे, born 26 October 1995; Pune, Maharashtra) is a social activist living in Mumbai. He is the Founder and President of Shivsmarak Yuva Sangharsh Samiti,^[1] an initiative started by him in 2020 to work with underprivileged people in the areas of education, healthcare, and unemployment.^[2]^[3]

Early Life

Suraj was born in 1995 in Pune and grew up in Mumbai, Maharashtra. His father died when he was just 8 and there was no one to look after the family. He received little formal education and held many jobs when he was still a young boy. He attended primary and secondary school in Mumbai. When he was 11, an acquaintance gave him an opportunity to work as an office boy in the office of MBA class. After two years, he stepped down as a class master.

Career

Suraj started working as a cashier at Pantonules Mall in Borivali West. He also used to deliver newspapers door to door alongside his college friends. After graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2016 from Matushree Pushpaben Vinubhai Valia College of Commerce, Suraj joined an insurance company and has since been serving in the Insurance sector, having held several executive positions.

Shivsmarak Yuva Sangharsh Samiti

Suraj founded Shivsmarak Yuva Sangharsh Samiti alongside his friends in Maharashtra in 2020 with the aim of preserving Chhatrapati Shivaji's forts and memorial.^[4]^[5]^[6]

To make Shivsmarak as soon as possible.
To conserve forts in the state.
Show the entire history of Shivcharitra through a projector after Shivsmaraka is ready.
To build a library for reading Shivcharitra.
The height of Shivsmarak should be the same as before.
There will be scenes showing the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
museum and library.
In this memorial, a temple, a museum, a hospital, a replica of the entrance of each fort
theater should be set up to unfold the life of Shivaji Maharaj.
The entire true history of Shivaji Maharaj should be given in the school book
An administration official should be appointed to maintain as many monuments as there are in Maharashtra.^[7]
