Shubhada Chari is an Indian author, folklorist[1] and teacher[2] who focuses on writing and documentation of rivers of Goa. She has been referred to as "Daughter of Rivers"[3] and received Yuva Pratibha Puraskar (2025), Sahitya Puraskar (2022) for her contribution in the feild of folkculture.[4]

Early life

Chari is a resident of Sal, a village in Bicholim taluka of Goa. As a student she possssed the understanding about the nature under the guidance of Rajendra Kerkar. She has visited the basin of the river right from itd starting from its origin.[5] In 2015, she received "Yuva Pratibha Puraskar" by the Directorate of Art and Culture and Goa and west zone cultural centre, Udaipur.[4]

Career

Chari is a teacher and a member of Vivekanand Prerna Pratisthan baed at Keri village of Sattari.[6] She has directed cultural programmes on Doordarshan Goa.
