'''Tarlupadu''' is a village in Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh. It is a Gram Panchayat and also a Mandal Headquarter. The total population of this village is around 5,000. The revenue division is Kandukur and Sub-Division is Podili. It falls into Markapuram Assembly constituency. Previously it used to be under Cumbum Assembly constituency which is been removed in the process of delimitation of Assembly constituencies in 2009. Being a Mandal Headquarter, it hosts all the offices of government bodies like MRO, MEO, MDO, PHC etc.

Ongole district was created in 1970 with three revenue divisions of Kurnool, Guntur and Nellore districts. In 1972, it was renamed Prakasam district in memory of [[Tanguturi Prakasam]], freedom fighter, chief Minister of undivided Madras state and the first chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. ==Economy==
This Village is mostly a agricultural dependent village. Most of the villagers are into agriculture despite a few grocery stores, Fancy stores, Electric and plumbing stores. Mostly grown crops here are Bengal Gram, Toor Dal, Cotton, Tobacco, Mirchi, Millets. It was known for its trade decades ago. Because of that, it also has been named as 'Chinna Guntur'.

Every year the village hosts many devotional events like Bramhotsavams, Aradhana, Pallaki Seva, Sree Rama Kalyanam, etc. Sree Venugopala Swamy Bramhotsavams will be held for 11 days every year in the months of Feb or March. This is one of the biggest events happen in the village. This temple also has a great history as the 'PRATHISHTA' was done by the JANAMEJAYA MAHARAJU (The great grandson of ARJUNA from Mahabharatha).
