Dhum Dhadaka is a 1985 Indian Marathi-language comedy film written by Annasahab Deolgaonkar and directed and produced by Mahesh Kothare under the banner of Jenma Films International. Released in Maharashtra on 19 August 1985, the film stars an ensemble cast of Ashok Saraf, Mahesh Kothare, Laxmikant Berde, Nivedita Joshi Saraf, Surekha Rane, Prema Kiran and Sharad Talwalkar.[1] [2]
Synopsis
A rich spoilt girl named Gauri (Nivedita Joshi Saraf) bumps into a young man named Mahesh Jawalkar (Mahesh Kothare) and both despise each other at first sight. Gauri's widower father Dhanaji Wakade (Sharad Talwalkar) is a haughty industrialist and also the employer of Mahesh, who is soon fired by Dhanaji due to his quarrel with Gauri. However, the high-esteemed Mahesh challenges Dhanaji and swears to marry his daughter. Later, Mahesh and Gauri fall in love but it will be difficult to convince her father for their marriage as Mahesh is from a poor family. Thus, Mahesh takes the help of his close friend Ashok Gupchup (Ashok Saraf) and makes him pose as his estranged father and a rich businessman so that Dhanaji approves his marriage. The haughty industrialist falls for the scheme while Ashok secretly has an attraction towards Dhanaji's second daughter Seema (Surekha Rane). Meanwhile, Dhanaji's son Laxmikant (Laxmikant Berde), also known as Lakshya, is an aspiring filmmaker and is not interested in the family business. He aspires to make a film with a village belle named Ambakka Rede (Prema Kiran), whom he loves and tries to convince his father for their marriage and also to finance his upcoming film. Eventually, Lakshya despises his own father and supports both Mahesh and Ashok in their tactics against Dhanaji. Now, Ashok, Mahesh and Lakshya will try all possible ways to impress Dhanaji to approve their marriages.
