| Attars were [[Khorasani Arabs]] who traditionally ruled the Western parts of [[Afghanistan]] and eastern part of [[Turkey]]. After migrating to India these Attars started dealing with manufacturing of perfumes and smell sticks etc. Currently only a few families are dealing with their family business. Most families have moved abroad and settled in USA, Canada, Europe and Middle East.

| The Attars have set up their own caste association, the Attar Council, which acts as a community welfare organization and pressure group.
