Shillong is a city in the northeastern part of India and the capital of Meghalaya, India.[1]It is also known as the ‘Scotland of the East’, because of its misty clouds and luscious greenery.[2]According to the 2011 census it is the 330th most populous city in India with a population of 143,229.[3][4][5]Shillong is well known for it's climate, waterfalls, and hills. It also receives a high amount of rainfall throughout the year.[6]
Shillong is at a height of 1,525 meters above sea level, the city extends about 64.36km2 regions. Its average weather is about 24 Degree Celcius with 70% humidity. Monsoon with heavy rainfall usually starts from the month of June to August.[7]
