Virk (also spelled as Birk or Wirk) are Suryavanshi Kshatriyas clan.
 
Virks are Suryavanshi Rajputs and they are mentioned in Mahabharata as “Vrika Rajputs” or “Vrika Raja-putra” means “Son of King” or “Son of Warrior” or famoulsy known as “Son of Wolfs”. Vrikas are regarded as “Kshatriyas” or a “Warriors” in “Mahabharta” and they are brethren of Minhas Rajputs. Hence many people write their surnames as “Minhas-Virk”.

Virks have a history of more than 2000 years. Since they were mentioned in Mahabharata as “Vrika” Rajputs or “Vrika Warriors” or “Vrika Kshatriyas”.

Virks are known to be Kshatriyas as HarshVardhan Virk who defeated Huns in 400 AD.
