The film revolves around an old peasant's garden, which the zamindars desperately want to occupy. Despite the continuous machinations and traps put forward by the zamindars, the aged, frail pheasant Banchharam, in some way or the other, continues to live in his garden, and manages to maintain it as well.<ref>{{Citation|title=Bancharamer Bagan|url=http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0310712/|access-date=2019-10-11}}</ref>
