Shafi Parambil (born 12 February 1983) is an Indian politician and a member of the 14th Kerala Legislative Assembly.[1] He is a member of the Indian National Congress and represents Palakkad constituency.[2]

Political career

He started his political life as a member of Kerala Students Union (KSU), the Kerala student's wing of Indian National Congress. While in college, he was the unit office bearer of K.S.U. and the General Secretary of college union. In 2007, he was selected as State General Secretary and in 2009 as the State President of K.S.U.[3]

He was elected thrice to the Kerala Legislative Assembly in 2011, 2016 and 2021 from Palakkad constituency. In 2017, he was elected as the General Secretary of Indian Youth Congress.[4] And later in 2018, he resigned the post of General Secretary of Indian Youth Congress.[5] He is currently the State President of the Indian Youth Congress. In 2021 Kerala Legislative Assembly election he won against "Metro man" E. Sreedharan at Palakkad constituency with a margin of 3200 votes.

Personal life

He is the son of Shanavas and Maimoona.
