CVCE 2013] Retrieved 2023-07-14.</ref> during Copenhagen European Summit in 1973.  Apparently, some people in Europe thought of ‘Scientific European’ as an expression of European identity in the field of science journalism.

After 1990, the usage of the title ‘Scientific European’ discontinued but the publication continued in the name of Spektrum as evidenced by the fact that the websites [http://www.scientificeuropean.eu scientificeuropean.eu] and [http://scientificeuropean.de/ scientificeuropean.de] are redirected to the [https://www.spektrum.de Spektrum der Wissenschaft] published from Germany.

Publication of Scientific European as a serial in print and online format began in 2017 from United Kingdom.
