She then pursued a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physics from the Government College for Women, Thiruvananthapuram, and completed her B.Ed. as a University of Kerala rank holder.
Veena taught Physics as a lecturer at Catholicate College, Pathanamthitta, for one year before taking up journalism as her career choice.
