At that time the Taluk had 6 [[Revenue block]]s in it: [[Malappuram]], [[Manjeri]], [[Kondotty]], [[Wandoor]], [[Vengara, Malappuram district|Vengara]], and [[Tirurangadi]].<ref name="Malabar"/><ref name="1961_kkd">{{Cite book|title=District Census Handbook (2) - Kozhikode (1961)|last=Devassy|first=M.
