Dr. Madhukar Hirve ([[Mohan Joshi]]), also known as Madhu, is a well-known surgeon and hospital founder and lives a happy married life in [[Pune]] with Seema ([[Neena Kulkarni]]), a responsible, clever and mature housewife. Madhu's anesthetist colleague, Dr. Dinesh Kirtikar ([[Prashant Damle]]), is a bachelor with a great sense of humour. Soon, Dr. Beena Karnik ([[Varsha Usgaonkar]]), the beautiful niece of Madhu and Seema's neighbour, Mrs. Bendre ([[Amita Khopkar]]), joins as Madhu's assistant at his hospital and Madhu is instantly attracted to Beena during her tenure.
