The ceremony was presided over by HU Vice-Chancellor, Dr HS Sharma.
Reading out the university’s annual report, the VC informed that 1702 degrees in different streams at the UG and the PG levels would be awarded this year, in person and in absentia. “The Himalayan University is spread over 23 acres of land, with campuses in Chimpu and Jollang. The university started with 55 students in 2013-14, and is currently having more than 3500 students,” he said. Shri Taba Tedir awarded the gold medals to the toppers.

Around 410 alumni were entitled to award with degrees from different disciplines including students from Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Commerce, Faculty of Education, B.ed (Spl.Ed), Faculty of Science, Faculty of Humanity & Social Studies, Faculty of Library Science, Faculty of Social Work, Faculty of Naturopathy Medicine, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Faculty of Fine Arts and Pmanyerforming Arts, and many more. Around 400 students participated in the games including Long Jump, High Jump, Football and Badminton. In order to provide easy access and quality educational resources to the students of Arunachal Pradesh, Distance Education Bureau of University Grant Commission has granted approval to Himalayan University for offering five programmes – B.A., B.Com., M.A. (History), M.A. (English), M.Com. through distance education mode for January 2020 session vide notification F. No. 1-11/2019 (DEB-I) dated 30-12-2019. This is the first State Private University in the State of Arunachal Pradesh to be bestowed with the responsibility of reached the unreached and geographically challenged. This step should help integrate the North East Region with the mainland; one of the initiatives of the Prime Minister of India.
