Shares in the company were listed on the National Stock Exchange of India in March 2010.[2] The operations of Nagpur-based Infospectrum India Private, an outsourced private development of US company Infospectrum, were taken over by Persistent in February 2011.[3]

The company organizes an annual hackathon called Semicolons for its employees.[4] The company also organizes IBM's Call for Code hackathon at its Goa, Nagpur and Pune offices.[5]

Controversy[edit]

An investigation by The Wire allegedly found that Persistent Systems was involved in the production and management of Tek Fog, a software used by the BJP to manage inauthentic accounts en masse on social media, and hijack WhatsApp accounts to message propaganda to contacts while impersonating the account owner.
