The Banaut /Bandawat (Bundela) are a branch of the Bundela Rajput found in the Indian state of Bihar, jharkhand, India.[1] They trace their Lineage from orchha bundelakhand and Jhansi. Banauts/Bandawats claim their ancestry from Raja Chatrasal of Bundelakhand
History and origin
The Banaut are found mainly in north-eastern Bihar. They have come originally from Orcha in Bundelkhand. The community are said to have left Orcha to escape the Mughals..The Banaut are distributed mainly in ,chouparan , Munger, Bhagalpur, Purnia, Saharsa, Katihar and Arariya. Rajput from Hazaribagh and Chatra in Jharkhand also from the same clan of Rajput.[2]
Present circumstances
. The Banaut speak Angika and most of them understand Hindi.
