Ponniyin Selvan (transl. The son of the Ponni) is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language historical drama web series. It is based on the five-part novel titled Ponniyin Selvan penned by Kalki Krishnamurthy.[1] It is co-produced by MX player and May 6 Entertainment with production by Soundarya Rajinikanth[2][3] and direction by Sharath Kumar Jothi. The story revolves around Arulmozhivarman, one of the kings of the Chola dynasty, who was later known as Raja Raja Chola.[4][5]

Production

In 2019, MX Player announced the web series adaptation with a title design teaser.[6] production began in June 2019.[7] The original language of the web series will be in Tamil, in which the novel was originally written, but the information about dubbed languages will be updated soon.
