Mir (Urdu: مير) is a Kashmiri Sunni Muslim family name with origins in the Kashmir Valley.
Descendants of Emperor Shah Mir. Mir surname, unlike many surnames in the Kashmir valley is used exclusively by the Kashmiri Muslims.[1]
