Mahaganapati at Ranjangaon is believed to have come to the aid of [[Shiva]] in destroying the citadels of the demon Tripurasura. According to history, the temple was built between 9th & 10th century. [[Madhavrao Peshwa]]  made a room in the basement of the temple to keep an idol of Lord Ganesh. Ranjangaon is on Pune Ahemadnagar Highway so many people stop at Mahaganpati. Because of MIDC and Mahaganpati many local people have get jobs or they have started their own business.

Ranjangaon is a village in Sakri tehsil in Dhule district of Maharashtra State, India. It is located 35 kilometres (22 mi) from sub district headquarter and 90 kilometres (56 mi) from district headquarter. The village is administrated by Sarpanch an elected representative of the village as per Panchayati raj (India). [1]

As of 2009, The village has a total number of 164 houses and a population of 717 of which 355 are males while 362 are females. According to the report published by Census India in 2011, out of the total population of the village 0 people are from Schedule Caste and 717 are from Schedule Tribes Caste.[1]
