Calendar System
This template follows the Purnimanta system (पूर्णिमान्त पद्धति), which is the Ujjain-based tradition where:
- Each month begins the day after Purnima (full moon) and ends on the next Purnima
- Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) comes first, followed by Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight)
- This system is widely used in North and West India and is the traditional system of Vikrama Samvat
Note: This differs from the Amanta system used in South India where months begin after Amavasya (new moon).
Notes
- All three parameters are mandatory
- Parameter order: date, month, year
- Enter the Vikrama Samvat year directly (not CE year)
- Date should be a number from 1 to 30
- Dates 1-9 are automatically zero-padded (01, 02, 03, etc.)
- Output format: DD Month YYYY (e.g., 03 माघ 2081)
Year Conversion
To convert from CE to VS: Add 56-57 years
- 2025 CE = 2081-2082 VS
