Ministry of Interior (Pakistan)

The Ministry of Interior ([lower-alpha 1], abbreviated as MoI) is a Cabinet-level ministry within the Government of Pakistan. Its primary responsibilities include implementing internal policies, ensuring state security, and managing the administration of internal affairs related to the state.

The Ministry of Interior is headed by the Interior Minister, supported by the Minister of State for Interior and the Interior Secretary. The Interior Secretary holds the rank of a Grade 22 officer, while the Interior Minister is a prominent member of the federal cabinet. The minister must be a member of Parliament. During the martial regimes of Generals Ayub Khan and Yahya Khan, from 1962 to 1971, the title of the Interior Minister was changed to Home Affairs Minister.
